So I’ve made it to the Triumph all in one piece. Because I am a retard, of course I went out the night before I was suppose to go to Miami, I got home at 3 am and left for the airport at 4 am. Yeah so I was dead tired and on a half an hour of sleep with club makeup and club stamps on my hand by the time I got to the ship. The ship itself is effen incredible and effen huge. Its got 14 regular decks and 3 more decks below sea level with engine stuff that I know nothing about. The layout is completely different then any of the other ships that I have been on so I am completely lost. This class of ships is 102,000 tonnes. Quite a difference from the 42,000 tonne Holiday and 72,000 tonne Sensation. The ship is also newer then any other ship that I have been on so its pretty amazing. I live on deck 4 with others staff and officers. Now, the door right next to my cabin is the exit to the open deck and the crew bar. The open deck is really nice cause I get fresh air whenever I want it and you can get away from everyone. Crew bar is not so good cause $2 packs of smokes (not that I am even thinking of starting up smoking again) and $1.25 drinks are bad news for me. I am right above the mooring deck, which is the deck where all of those huge ass ropes are to type up the ship to the pier. So I hear crazy machinery noises all the time which makes me kind of paro that the ship is falling apart. I’m also right at the forward of the ship so I can hear all the waves hit the ship. We’re on our way to Puerto Rico right now, apparently its really rough seas from Miami to San Juan cause we’re rocking tropical storm styles. Its so effen rough that it jolts and shakes the bed so bad that I can’t stand in the shower without hanging to the safety bad and if I didn’t have a protective bar on my bed, my ass would be rolling off the top bunk. The noise is so great when we hit waves that it literally sounds and feels like we’ve hit another ship (which I hope to god is never the case). My roommate is a photographer from croatia. She’s quiet and introverted so I don’[t know why the hell they put me with her but I’ll bring her out of her shell and she’ll be dancing drunk on tables in cozumel in no time! She snores like a boar, so between her and the mooring noises and the waves, it takes me about 12 hours to get 8 hours of sleep. Anyways, the other trainer that I am working with is awesome. Shes Canadian too and is a lot like me. Another trainer that’s hiding piercings and tattoos from the bosses! Hehe! She took one look at my club stamped hand and she was like YOU CAME STRAIGHT FROM THE CLUB DIDN’T YOU I was like OH SHIT, YEAH I DID so she gave me the day off to sleep. BOOYAH! We do 2 different itineraries. One to Puerto rico, st. martin and st, Thomas. Then we return to Miami and head back out to Jamaica, grand cayman and mexico. Between the itineraries we have to change our clock back one week and forward another week. So you dun know my lazy confused ass is going to be either showing up to work too early or too late! Anywho, I’m excited about this ship, its really nice, the itinerary is wicked, the other trainer is wicked cool so everything looks good. Its funny though cause coming back to the ship to me felt like I was coming back home to Oakville. Guess the seafarer blood does run in me after all (thanks dad). Anyways, I gotta go and review some new programs that came out when I was on vacation so imma jet.
